You know I love a gift guide moment, so we had to get to it for Mother’s Day. I wanted to curate a list of feel good, beautiful presents that I would love to gift my Mom or mother-figure on this very special day. I know this day can be sensitive for some, so I want to let you know that you’re in my thoughts and I’m sending big hugs your way. Above every gift on this guide, some pretty florals will always be my go-to Mother’s Day gift. Wishing all of the moms in this community a very happy (early) Mother’s Day.
Love, Gabs
A Mom who deserves a self care moment
Peak luxury is gifting good beauty products. Sometimes beauty is the last thing Moms are thinking about with all that is on their plate. My first pick in the beauty department is this ultra-luxurious InnBeauty Project Extreme Cream. When I tell you I am so picky with trying new products, I mean it! In fact, I almost didn’t even give this one a chance. I’m so glad I did. Over the last month or so of use, it has earned a spot in the front row of my most treasured treatments and potions. Why I love it? It feels expensive- AND it’s not as expensive as a lot of these expensive feeling moisturizers, coming in at $48. It’s super rich and filled with all the good stuff: peptides, bio-retinol, and triple ceramides. The best part is: I don’t find it greasy in the slightest and I love wearing it all day alone, under makeup as a fabulous primer, or a thick layer at night to help with skin barrier repair. I’ve found it helps so much with plumpness and just a general glow. My skin is… glowing and gives you an immediate glass effect. I think this is the perfect gift for Moms.
I am seriously so obsessed with the body stones from Kate Mcleod. The first thought I had when I was putting it on: this would be a great gift. Why? Because, honestly, I don’t know if I would have ever thought to buy it before being gifted it. Now that I’ve fallen in love with the product, I will most definitely be repurchasing. It is the ultimate self care. Someone who treasures their rituals and routines will appreciate this more than anything. My favorites are the daily stone + the sleep stone, so far. This one looks very nice for new or expecting moms!
I can’t speak on luxurious products and not include the Goop scalp scrub and Crown Affair hair towel. Two items you see me mention a lot, and two things I never thought to buy myself! Until I did, and now I can’t live without them. Everyone deserves to have a top notch shower experience.
A really nice lip gloss. I’d go with this one from Chanel Beauty, Westman Atelier, or this and this from Gucci Beauty.
An on the go Mom who always looks put together
If you’re splurging and want to get your recipient something that will be used this summer and beyond, I’d gift them a Janessa Leone Hat. This one is my very favorite because of it’s packable superpowers. I’m also obsessed with their new raffia bags, so add those to the list!
Last year, I attended the launch event for Longchamp SS23 and my love for their bags was reignited. I’ve been sharing this bag a lot some of my previous substacks, but I think this small size is such a great gift for Mother’s Day. You can really take her anywhere on-the-go.
White + Warren cashmere wrap - another item I’ve gifted before. My boyfriend’s mom texts me monthly telling me how much she adores the wrap. It is also one of my musts for traveling, so I highly recommend it as a gift.
I love this Metier pouch for someone who is a bag lady and loves organizational pouches. I originally found this in Marin last week and now I want it for myself… Another flat pouch that is a little less expensive.
An X-large L.L. Bean Boat Tote is Mom’s best friend, especially in the summer for beach days. Speaking of summer bags, love this from Zara. A lot of you ask about chic diaper bags, I would gift a mom this Dragon Diffusion bag (Gabs10) to double as a diaper bag. It’s massive and perfect.
This cosmetic case caught my eye!
I am very into this gorgeous pochette. So versatile, fancy, and fun for day or night. Also found one on sale with a stunning chunky stripe here.
A Mom who loves the details + the hosting extraordinaire
I’ve already gifted my Mom a few Starling pieces, but among my favorites would be the Vintage Clasp Charm. I think its one of the best gifts, as it’s the perfect accessory for a neck stack and someone who collects charms. Code: GABS10 at Starling
Another thing that can never stay off my gift guides are pieces made by the very talented, Stephanie Dawn Matthias. I’m loving this and this from her latest newness.
You obviously need to write your recipient a very sweet card this year, and with that, I think it would be lovely to gift a vintage letter opener for any of the future notes they will open from you… maybe even a credit card bill.. but they will think of you when they looks down at the beautiful object. Since we’re talking stationary, I fell in love with these customizable notebooks from Paris, so had to include them.
In Marin last weekend, we stopped in the Lingua Franca shop and I just love these slippers. I think they’re such a nice personalized moment for mom.
A gift set from Flamingo Estate never fails. This bon bon box is looking decadent. I know this Mom would appreciate a beautiful table linen. And maybe some vintage silver candlesticks?
I was extremely blessed with an amazing Mom, two loving Grandmothers, and an iconic Godmother. The chicest and coolest women I know, with the biggest hearts. They’re all expert hostesses and fashionistas, so I thought of them all throughout this guide. I hope they didn’t read this in detail so we don’t spoil any surprises!
