Dear [Still Here NYC] jeans, I love you.
My jean journal: Where and how I wore my Still Here New York Every Day Jeans as of late.
I don’t think my personal style would exist without a pair of jeans. Dramatic, I know. But it is truly how I feel. Jeans are my comfort. The first thing I reach for when getting dressed, and the one thing I like to plan my outfit around. The best part about jeans, to me, is all of the ways you can style them. And when you find a good pair - now that is something special. That’s when the relationship begins. I’d like to think I have a unique relationship with each pair of denim in the closet of my 1920s bungalow, messily folded in stacks. Each pair can serve a different purpose, achieve a unique look, or fit a certain mood on any given day.
One of my favorite denim brands, Still Here New York has just created another dead-bang-winner in the denim category, the Every Day Jean. Today, we’re dedicating this newsletter to my love for jeans and styling the new Every Day Jean for various occasions, showcasing how versatile they are. Where I wore them + how I wore them.
Wearing the Every Day Jean for Sunday breakfast and Larchmont Village farmer’s market
My favorite way to wear jeans, especially in winter, is with a tee (did you know Still Here also makes the perfect white tee?) and a sweater. It feels like the most “me” of outfits, and I always feel most confident this way. Relaxed, nothing crazy.
Wearing the Every Day Jean to get martinis at Sunset Tower
I love dressing up a pair of jeans. I think the easiest way to do this is with a blazer. I opt for this a lot of times when I’m stepping out for a night on the town. This time, I grabbed my new Facette tuxedo blazer to really jazz it up for cocktails at a favorite spot in town. I grabbed some vintage Prada pumps with socks to finish off the look.
Wearing the Every Day Jean into the office as a Marketing Director
I like to keep things very easy when getting dressed to head to the office. Something very comfortable, but as put together as possible. A lot of times, I reach for a poplin button down and jeans, so this outfit recipe was a no-brainer when it came to styling the Every Day Jean for work. I am 5’4”, and while the jeans fall longer on me, I absolutely love the way they cuff. Probably my favorite way to style them.
Wearing the Every Day Jean to a double date at Cobi’s
I never overthink a casual date night outfit. A good sweater, belted jeans, and boots always does the trick. I love that the Every Day Jean can be styled a little lower on the hips and a little higher on the waist and still look good both ways. I found that styling them higher with a belt elevated the silhouette of my leg.
Wearing the Every Day Jean in “slob chic” for evening errands
For every elevated chic outfit, there is a “slob chic” outfit: it’s just the ratio of how styling works in my everyday life. After work, I paired the jeans with my favorite vintage IU crewneck and supple Jamie Haller loafers. A boat and tote for good measure, filled with some returns to take to the post office.
Wearing the Every Day Jean to lunch at La Scala for my favorite salad
On a sunny LA day, while forgetting it was winter, I was able to style the Every Day Jean for lunch. Cuffed to perfection, paired with a short-sleeved cashmere sweater, ballet flats and a vintage suede jacket. I love the way tones of brown and blue denim pair together.
Jeans have carried my personal style and been with me through its evolution. I’ve always relied on a pair of jeans to anchor my outfit. One of my favorite parts of fashion is living in your garments. Giving them life through wear. A patina for leather, and a subtle fade in denim overtime. They are meant to be worn, in all of the ways.
Love, Gabs
Still Here New York graciously gifted me a pair of their Every Day Jeans to test out ahead of the launch, in order to write this newsletter. I am typically between a 24 and 25 in most jeans and I went with a 25 in this style from Still Here. I hope you love them as much as I do.
Double date at Cobi's look is SO. GOOD. Love how the belt & boots elevate it.
