One of my most requested prompts is always: “how do I style my loafers?”. I felt it was right to kick off 2024 with a nod to all of my loafers and some of my favorite ways to style them. I had so much fun doing this that it might have to become a more regular thing here. I’m going to take you through some easy outfits that feature beautifully made loafers as the centerpiece.
The stars of the show are the 4 pairs of loafers I wore throughout this post. The Freda Salvador Elba Penny loafer (code: GABS15 for first time purchases), which is a true penny, polished and structured loafer. I have them in Espresso + Black. And, the loafers I won’t shut up about lately, the Jamie Haller loafers, which are a more soft, relaxed loafer. I have the black patent leather and black soft leather. Both of these loafers are definitely a splurge, but I wear loafers so often that I feel comfortable highly recommending them. I also have an honorable mention loafer, the Essen loafers (code: GABS15) that I will style in a future post (maybe in part 2?). Before we move on, you don’t need any of these loafers, although I’d suggest them time and time again if you’re in the market. My hope is for you to garner some inspiration for your future loafer-styled outfits.
The first and most obvious pick, for me, would be loafers and a pair of blue jeans. To keep it interesting, I did a vintage pair of Levi’s that are super long on me to add an exaggerated cuff. Topped off with a classic sweater and an old gray tee beneath.

This is an outfit repeater moment, as I wore a similar rendition in Barcelona, but it just works. Kept a monochrome center line with an off-white tee and jeans, but matched the black leather jacket with black loafers and a black belt. I went no socks, but you can absolutely add a fun sock here, or keep it neutral.

A cardigan with an exaggerated pant, like the Nili Lotan Shon, or something similar is always fun to do with loafers. I wear this outfit very often! Love it for an office look.

You knew you weren’t going to get out of this post without a little slob chic, right? This theme has been on repeat for me and I’m loving it. No fuss, comfortable, but put together. The loafers are the anchor here in elevating what’s on top.
