My outfit today and why
Sharing an outfit explanation and my recipe for balancing a comfortable office outfit
Surprise!! This might have caught you off guard because I didn’t plan on sending this out today. I’m trying to share more content here [substack] on a regular basis, but of course keep overthinking what that looks like. So here I go- let’s try this out. Today’s outfit and why!
It’s pretty obvious that I wear jeans almost every day- I can’t help myself. I feel the most myself when I have a pair of denim on and, somehow, feel I have more control with my styling when I start my dressing with the comfort of my jeans.
I had no idea what I was going to wear today, but this button down I just got back from the cleaners was looking too crisp not to indulge. I threw on the shirt and went for my denim stack. I first thought, maybe my Ecru Levi’s 90’s? But then I remembered the last few times I wore this shirt I went for the tonal, white on cream, cream on white combo. So, I opted for a stack of my vintage pairs. I knew I wanted a pair that were a little longer to drape perfectly over some ballet flats. I picked my custom pair I got made from Love Lenny. Then it was time for flats.. I felt like the oversized, polished shirt and slightly distressed vintage Levi’s meant some ballet flats to bring in a soft, buttery element.
When I go to the office, I want to be comfortable, but try my best to be put together, or have some element of polished-ness. We have a pretty relaxed dress-code which makes it even easier to dress myself.

Although I overthink what content I want to share here sometimes, I didn’t overthink this outfit. It kind of came together like making your favorite recipe.
Before I think too much and don’t send this out to you all, I’m going to end this here.
Do we want more of these types of quick + dirty Substack posts/newsletters? Any suggestions on a daily or more weekly series? I was thinking about doing my top weekly finds- like 10 or under and why I picked them. Happy to hear your thoughts!
I love learning how other people assemble outfits - great way to gain inspiration beyond just the visual presentation!
Yessss keep it coming!
