Obsessions 002
A short list of everything I am into right now! Everything from t-shirts to snacks.
Well, hello there everyone! Sorry about my little hiatus. Spent this week recouping, working on a ton of fun things at Starling (my 9-5), and getting ready for one of my best friend’s to visit me! I wanted to share with you all the second volume of “Obsessions”. If you weren’t here for the first, you can sweep by Obsessions I and see what I was loving in early August.
This month, I got to create a Fall Office Spotify playlist for an email that went out for Starling! All jams that feel like fall to me. Feel free to listen + enjoy while you scroll:
We’re in between seasons and it’s not quite fall weather in LA, so I’ve been resisting the urge to throw on my chunkiest sweaters and cashmere socks. While dealing with this resistance, I’ve been gravitating toward other things.
I have been very into wearing washed black- kind of like what the shade off-white is to white. Specifically this V-neck- yes, I said V-neck. Listen, I know some of us feel scarred from high school and college days; wearing the super deep v’s with camisoles beneath, but, I’m telling you, they are the most flattering, décolleté of tees. I sized up so it appears more effortless, and that way you have a wider canvas for your necklaces.
I have been gushing over two things in the home department: my new bedding and this marble dish. So, this bedding. I can’t explain exactly what it feels like, but it’s a cross between the softest vintage tee and super nice hotel sheets. They are softer than I could have imagined and I am genuinely look forward to going to sleep every night in them. Next, this one of a kind marble dish from Anastasio Home, which is an incredible brand of unique home goods. All of their objects are crafted from stunning one of a kind stone. You might not know this about me, but I used to be a stone stylist (a short-lived career selling rare stone slabs to designers, developers, etc). So- when I saw the selection of stone objects, I fell in love. Each is so unique! You can get 10% off with this link.
The candles I’m burning: I’m on my second round of this perfect candle from Jenni Kayne, and I am savoring every last melt of this Tata Harper x Nette collab candle.
Speaking of one of a kind, I shared these amazing handmade, beaded necklaces from my new friend Catherine at Made by Rooni. She invited me to her home where she dreams up these very special necklaces and hand crafted two on the spot, just for me. I got to pick out my beads and it was such a lovely time. My necklaces are feature Butter Jasper + Citrine and Smoky Obsidian + Citrine.
It was a Sunday and I had a million errands to run, but guess what? I was also driving passed one of my fav antique stores (The Mart Collective). So, I quickly made a U-turn because something was telling to me to check out the store. That something was this insane Sterling Silver, vintage choker. Fit perfectly, and I couldn’t believe my eyes. Immediately obsessed! It garnered quite the interest on my Instagram, so I did my best to find some similar options for you to consider. I’ll always encourage you to hunt for a vintage equivalent (you might find one even cooler), but these are a little easier to access! Here, here, here and here.
All I care about wearing lately is my vintage Levi’s, a fitted-ish cardigan, and a tee. So I’m on the hunt for some more cardigan staples for fall. Here’s what I’m thinking: this one from Ref, this one as a splurge splurge and this one from Dôen. Oh and loafers. I finally added the Black Freda Loafers to my collection, which are 20% off (CODE: FALLFAVES). These are also the perfect, relaxed loafer and the price is right for how great of quality they are! (code: GABS15)
And a short list of some other things in the obsessions category:
My beloved basket bag (pic of it) - I reach for it 9/10 times and have been preferring it to any of my designer bags lately
These Undo hair clips - so chic and well made. Gorgeous colors and hold thick hair well.
Saie lip gloss in Kiss- feels like the favorite lip gloss as a teen, now grown up + cleaner.
This perfectly oversized tee, but also this perfect high-neck, vintage feeling baby tee.
I had one of the best lobster rolls of my life at Lunch in South Hampton. While we’re here- I LOVED Hampton Coffee! Got an Iced brown sugar latté with cinnamon every day of the trip
Regular pilates (or any workout)- I recently got back into doing pilates 2-3x a week and I forgot how amazing it makes me feel mentally. I’m so glad I am prioritizing it again!
Snacks: Roasted seaweed (Gimme brand, avo oil + sea salt) + roasted cashews (unsalted, I add my own pinch of Maldon)
Pinning daily - lately it has been the perfect medicine to escape and feel inspired. See what I’m up to on my pinterest.
Things that caught my eye: This Khaite skirt, this Still Here New York Coat, and this Cos coat

I’ve been sort of over-thinking what I’m sharing on TikTok, but I felt super inspired to make a recent “explaining my recent saves” TikTok and it was so fun to do! Here’s some of what is enclosed:

On Gift of Gabs, I’m hoping to share more daily outfits, weekly finds, things I’m coveting + craving (new series?), and details about my upcoming trip to Spain in the coming weeks! Some dedicated substacking for my favorite tees or other closet staples is in order as well.. one thing at a time!
Talk soon!
Loved this newsletter! Grabbed the cream loafers and can’t wait to try ;)
I adore that vintage choker you found! What a steal!
