Things I loved in 2023
From pieces I wore daily, to newfound holy grail products- here are my most loved things from the last year.
It was easy to narrow down this list because of how much I truly love each and every one of these items. You might not be surprised as you have probably seen them before on my Insta + TikTok, but I always love seeing a round up of favorite things.

Michael Stars tees - My old faithful of tees. Feels like soft vintage cotton and perfect for under sweaters. Not a boxy fit, so will warn you on that! But I love these as a relaxed + soft option. Also love the Colleen and the
Black Havaianas - we all know my love for the square toe flops this year! I hope I influenced you to get some! So flattering and wore these more than anything over the summer.
Janessa Leone Hat - truly the most packable hat in the world- and I mean it!
Aerie Sweats - The best sweats ever. And a great price! Definitely not structured and more on the slouchy side. Slob chic starter pack item.
Freda Loafers - you already know! A polished penny loafer you will have for years. I love the brown and the black alike! Runs true to size and short break in period, if any. Code: GABS15 for 15% off first time purchases
Jamie Haller Loafers - if you’re looking for a relaxed loafer that feels more like a flat, I’d go for these. I gravitate toward these on a daily basis because they feel more casual! I had the chance to visit Jamie’s studio for a holiday dinner and I was so impressed at how much detail and care goes into the making of these gorgeous shoes.
Hanky Panky - My fav underwear a few years running. Would love any more recs you guys have in this department!
Starling Bespoke Gem Ring - One of my prized possessions. It’s so fun to pick your own gem and customize the setting! A ring I will have for the rest of my life and hopefully pass down to my children. We’re making cocktail rings cool again at Starling.
Left on Friday Leggings - a really great legging. They are thick and snatch you in. Have loved them for pilates!
Dôen Polka Dot Dress - This dress was one of my favorites from this year. It’s a special dress! Everything from Dôen has such an Heirloom feel.
Cayumas - Loved the pop of color/ texture these mary janes brought to my outfits.
Love Lenny - custom Levi’s! I think they are so worth it especially if you aren’t the biggest hunter of vintage or don’t have access to well-curated vintage Levi’s in your area. Lindsey offers virtual appointments to get your measurements!
Khaite August Hobo - my most worn bag. I know the price tag is a pretty penny, but I have never worn a bag more. It made me realize that my preferred on the go and daily bag is a crossbody.
Sezane Button Down - one of my most worn items. Obsessed with the fit and how crisp these are.
Levi’s 501 90s - the best jeans! They have them in so many shades too. I just got the black and I love them.
Bottega Card Case - A small designer leather good that is 1000% worth the splurge.
Oliver Peoples glasses - I haven’t upgraded my eyeglasses in years. This was long overdue. I feel like glasses are very personal, but I adore these OP one’s I chose!
Rooni Necklace - such a fun touch to your necklace stack!
Black Sambas - my most worn sneaker this year. I waited a while to get on the samba train and wish I got these sooner. They are so wearable- don’t let the black scare you! The white stripe balances it out.
Phone Case - a cheap thrill that became a part of my outfits!
Cuyana Makeup bag - The pop of red that chics up your luggage situation.
Undo Hair Clips - the best hair clips ever!
White + Warren Wrap - I cannot travel without this.
Dorsey Necklace - one of my favorite 2023 finds. Wearable with the most casual of outfits.
Zara Home Lamp - one of my favorite home purchases this year that I had to include. Looks way more expensive than it is! I’d honestly love to get a few more of these.
Vintage Pick Ups- my favorite things list would not be complete without some vintage pieces I scored this year. I found this gorgeous Sterling Silver choker and a cuff with black onyx that I wear every day!
Essen Sandals - my most worn sandals. They elevated summer outfits and perfect for European cobblestone roads. Code: GABS15 for 15% off
Hourglass Foundation - the foundation that made me fall in love with makeup again. Code on Hourglass: GABRIELLA
Rhode Milk - this product is a holy grail- if you’re looking for glow, look no further. Also great as an all over body product. I dowse my dècollatage in it!
Shani Moisturizer - Amazing and plumping. I don’t know what sorcery is in this moisturizer, but it is my fav. Using it in tandem with the Rhode Milk has been a game changer for me.
Goop Scalp Scrub - if you’ve been following me this year, you know I don’t shut up about this.
Westman Atelier Contour - most blend-able and easy product. Sculpt cheekbones of the gods with this!
Crown Affair Hair Towel - I can’t explain how good this is. Never knew I needed it but can’t live without!
A few things I didn’t love and wish I saved my money on.. these sambas that I thought were going to be perfect. They’re not as wearable as my other pair. Another pair of shoes I wish I skipped: these Bottega wedges- they weren’t as flattering as I hoped they would be. The main splurge item I wish I skipped was the Bottega Jodie. I wanted a Bottega bag for so long and wish I didn’t get that one as my first. First off, the suede is super hard to keep clean (looking) and its super annoying to get items in and out. I think it being a more popular style put it even lower on the scale, for me. Not to say I don’t love the way it looks with an outfit, because I still really like it! Just my opinion on whether it is splurge worthy. Another bag regret was this out-there Loewe basket bag. I prefer my $10 basket bag from the flea market and this felt like way too much of an impulse choice to justify.. Beautiful and fun bag, but it doesn’t pass my test of being practical enough to keep around.
Not so much a regret, and the Khaite studded jeans are gorg, I just barely ever wear them! A tough price tag to swallow if you’re barely busting them out. This year, I had a few too many impulse moments, which taught me to stick to my gut on splurge items. I plan to marinate on things for a little longer before pulling the trigger this next year.
What are some of your favorites of 2023? Anything we all should know about?
Love this list! Thanks for the recs, I also regret my Jodie bag 😑
I love that your list of favorites is made up of incredible foundational pieces. And I am so grateful for the honesty around “regrets.” We all have them!
