What's the latest?
Serving you the latest from my camera roll, notes app, and try-ons this week.
Dear reader,
Hello there! My apologies for making you wait a bit to hear from me. Where I’ve been: a lot of work, personal, and travel things happening right now. But, I really love this platform and I want to prioritize it, water it and see where it takes us! So thank you for being patient with me.
Coming to you live from my plane ride to Chicago. We’re doing a family girls trip to visit my sister at IU for her 21st - also where I went to college, so I am elated!! I love IU and I plan to get a ton of new merch, especially soft tees from my favorite store on Kirkwood (and Roy’s, of course). I think my pajama drawer tees from this very store could use an upgrade, even though I treasure every hole that has formed from years of loving wear. A few awesome things I want to chat about from the last time we convened here, which was when I professed my Obsessions II.
First of all, we gotta start with these Madewell jeans. Madewell sent over some pieces from their fall collection and when I went to try it on, I was not prepared for how amazing the fit of the jeans was about to be. I did an in depth look at them on my TikTok, but I’m here to tell you they fit like a designer pair. Specifically, they remind me of the Khaite Danielle/Abigail jeans. They also have multiple sizing options. One of my TikTok followers moved so quick- she went and tried them on at the store right after I posted, and she approved too! They have a bit of stretch to them, not super rigid feeling FYI.
They also sent two leather jackets, which are great. The smell of the leather on the bomber felt a little off, but the fit is great. I really like this oversized distressed one, it’s not as expensive as some designer options with the same distressed idea (as being a key word- it’s still expensive). I definitely plan to sport these jackets, but I always suggest searching for a vintage option via Ebay, Etsy, TRR, Vestiaire, etc. You might be able to find options for way less. I will try to link some finds in my weekly finds as I discover them.
Moving right along to this face mask that I’m very into as of the last couple weeks. I mainly love the feeling I get after putting it on. My skin feels ice-y and tight after using it and I’ve been loving that with all of the inflammation from travel.
Here to report that the new Rhode tinted lip balms are AMAZING. I can’t decide which is my fav. I think lip balm is definitely subjective, but I personally prefer Rhode to some other popular balms. There is more of a sheen and I feel it lasts longer and doesn’t feel heavy.
I have something fun happening with nail color next week so keep your eyes peeled! I’m also working on a draft with a bank of my favorite nail colors for FW.
Another sneak peek, becauseIjustcan’thelpmyself, are these trousers I found at Paige for an upcoming partnership post I’ll be doing with them. The fit of these is all-time. I see them as fabulous dressed up trousers for the holidays, but also plan to dress them down, like everything else in my closet. More on these soon!
I’ve been working on on sourcing a long, suede coat like this (sans price tag) with my friend Anna (@sourcedbyanna)! I am so excited to see what she finds. This was some inspo I sent to her:
Speaking of coats, I had mentioned I was in the market for a splurge coat. Something I will have for years, classic and I hopefully won’t get sick of. My mind said, “Go for a black coat!”. And so, I ordered a few to try and I think I struck gold with this Isabel Marant option. I had gone into Acne and tried on this one, but I was curious about the black, too. This option is great and offers the structured lines and tailoring I was hoping for, but I am unsure about the materials for the price tag. I do love how different it is (it has a boucle-ish thing happening). But- there’s something about the Isabel that I can’t explain. It feels timeless and quite honestly looks just like a coat from The Row, with a similar silhouette and materials for slightly less. The fits can also be seen here on my TikTok try on. I really am torn about this Toteme coat- should I keep this one? On another note outside of luxury price tag land, there are so many options I’ve also been drawn to, which include this one from Mango, this one from COS, and also this one from COS. I’m planning to go try some of these on in person and do a little reviewing if I have time in the coming weeks.
A dedicated Substack on my favorite sweaters is in the queue, so stay tuned! but for now, I am loving this one I discovered. It’s actually a men’s sweater, but when has that ever stopped us? I love how they have a thousand color options, too. Can’t decide which one I’m going to pull the trigger on, but I am into the university stripe.
This was my plane outfit:

I will leave you with: I haven’t stopped thinking about this Khaite skirt for months and I just got it in. I think I’m going to style it with these red tights for a very, very, very exciting event I have next week. We’ll see if the fit works out- can’t wait to share more.
Just ordered these all black Sambas last week.. Also put a Sezane order in including this sweater + this bag so will keep you posted on these.
Oh- and if any of you have any Mallorca or Barcelona recs, please comment them! We leave very soon and I am dangerously unprepared!
Talk soon!
Go to Ca Na Toneta while in Mallorca, I also wrote substacks recapping both Barcelona and Palma with favorite restaurants and some shops (I went to Spain for my honeymoon) 😊
